Before I get started, I’d like to take a moment welcome all my new followers.  I really hope I don’t disappoint you.

For those who are newish here, I’ll let you know I’ve been up and running since early January (2012). So, in the grand scheme of things, I’m really super-new at this.  That said, I’ve got some awesome followers and commenters (commentors? commentators?  whatever).

I am currently in some form of shock (this post was originally called “Holy #@%$*!”).  Many of you know that Traffic Patterns Freak Me Out, but even though I know better than to think to hard on it, or be surprised, or to even pay attention unless I want a headache, I’m addicted to site stats (I my defense, what new blogger isn’t?).

Statistics

If you have read my bio, you’ll know that I’m a statistician by training.  So, it shouldn’t be surprising that I tend to spend a lot of time looking at my site stats (ok, who doesn’t spend a lot of time looking at their site stats?).

Yesterday, I looked at all the page views I’ve had since inception.  The top three were the home page (no surprise), my home/about page, and my bio page.

My bio?  Seriously?  My bio page has had almost twice as many views as my top post.

I guess I didn’t need to mention that I’m a trained statistician when I started writing this post…

So, what’s my point.  I guess I don’t really have one.  I’m just surprised, and it’s hard to surprise me with statistics.

Wowser!

Yesterday evening I tweeted (I really want that word to be twit, don’t you?) that I had over 10% more views than my previous high for a given day.

My announcement was premature.

By the end of the day, I had nearly a third more views than my previous high.

So, here’s a big THANK YOU to all my visitors for giving me such a treat this morning.  Also, and extra big THANKS to my followers, who are all rather wonderful, in my opinion.
