Manuscript Stages (reblog)

If you’re interested in what the author has to do with a manuscript between writing “The End” and seeing it in a store, check this out.  Established author Lauren Willig gives an overview with the timeline from one of her own books in this blog post.

I asked for details on how this might differ for a first book, so check the comments in case she writes more!

Oh, if you’re wondering why I didn’t put the actual blog post here, it’s in case she gives more good info in the comments – I wouldn’t want you to miss them!

Writing Wednesday

I mentioned awhile back that I convinced (ok, asked nicely) a published author if she’d be willing to offer tips/suggestions/etc. to the rest of us.  If you recall, she accepted.  So, instead of a post today, I’m giving you a link to the first of these Writing Wednesday posts by author Lauren Willig.

Before you go check it out, remember that if there’s something you’d like to hear about, from a published author and/or one who is actively involved in social media, she’s taking requests.

Here’s the first Writing Wednesday post.

Here’s Ms. Willig’s Facebook (in case you’d like to get links to future Writing Wednesdays via FB).

Enjoy!

I’m passing this on for those of you who may be interested.  Published author Lauren Willig has donated her time in the form of a critique of a manuscript (50 pages).  This is a fundraiser for a charity.  Follow the link for more details.
