Oh my, but you have been busy at FindStuff2Read.com. It is a good looking site. I have been contemplating writing some reviews, as I have been reading a lot this year. So, I will send some content your way in the not too distant future. Don't be too much of a stranger because we like to hear from you. Most important...keep writing...your WIP needs you...even if it's just a few hundred words a week...keep writing. :-)

Many are taught that Christianity is a lifestyle, so those who fit in that category feel a conviction to proclaim their lifestyle to everyone. Sometime it’s to show that they are not afraid to be Christian. There are a few scriptures in the Bible referring to being a shame of being Christian (the gospel of the Christ) . Many Christians do not want to be that person the scriptures are referring to.
My religious views, as well as philosophic and moral views, will always reside somewhere in my stories. It’s part of my brainwashing scheme, and partly my reason for writing.

That was funny! One of the draws of writing fantasy is that I can get rid of things I'd hate to research... like cars and guns. I can make up stuff to fit my needs too. I still have to research stuff though!

I don't use any of those marker to identify myself. As a writer, I guess I describe myself based more on what I write. Short stories, flash fiction, women's fiction... Anything else I say about myself is pretty basic. Where I live and some of my hobbies. I guess if church was a hobby it would come into play? Haha.

Religion sneaks into my writing sometimes. It really depends on my characters. I'm pretty determined to let them be who they are, so I won't strip religion from a devout organ-playing Catholic. I just let them be and see what happens. I just don't like when they decide to be into something I know NOTHING about and have to go research, delaying my writing. Lol. Like, no, Misty, you may NOT be a war veteran. Okay, yes, you can. I just hate you right now.

I generally don't bring up religion or politics in my writing, mainly because I have no real affiliation with either!

I wrote some huge spiel about writing and religion and what country you're from, but when I finished it seemed irrelevant.

Now this comment is a bit irrelevant.

I'll show myself out...

Dennis, I usually don't bring up either religion or politics for mostly the same reasons, although I seem to be getting very close to that line lately... :)

I did, however, think this was a quite interesting thing to discuss as writers.

Thanks for commenting!

Shannon- You bring up some interesting points. For starters, I do not bring up my religious beliefs in my blog for the same reason I don't discuss politics. I'm trying to win friends and hopefully support for my writing not alienate them. And, some of my ideas are frowned on by most of the mainstream organized religions However, since you brought it up... ;-)

When I was younger, I took great delight in trying to pick apart someone's anyone's belief system. Then I realized that it really doesn't matter what I think. Personal beliefs are just that, personal. Truly, it's no ones business but my own. I'm okay with most systems as long as someone does not try to shove it down my throat. I don't swallow most dogma that is forced my way.

For my other writing, I absolutely include beliefs, religious and otherwise, in my writing. I think we have to as our writing is part of ourselves. Don't you think? If our characters are part of us, it make sense that they would have some of our religious beliefs as well.
