I’m Not a Freak… or at Least I Have Freakishly Good Company

Cheekbones.  Yup.  We’ve all got them.  But, have you described them lately?  No, not your own, but your various characters’?

If you said “no” and are beginning to panic, take a deep breath.

I don’t care about cheekbones.

So, why bring them up? 

SQUIRREL!!!

I’ve been a bit like a hyperactive small dog lately.  I seem to run from one object/task to another.  Just when I sit down to do something productive writing-wise, something pops up and it’s like a small dog in my brain just saw a SQUIRREL!!!

No, there wasn’t anything I was supposed to be doing.  Was there?

So, I’m a bit scattered. 

Now, I AM a bit behind on some things.  I’ve got a couple of book reviews to put up and I need to add a section here on writer resources.

Problems of Fiction Writers

I would like to share with you today, excerpts from a Facebook conversation in a writer’s group.  In it, one of the group members asks for input regarding the handling of a character issue.  I hope you find it as amusing as I do, but it is also instructive (or at least that’s my excuse for sharing it). 

Humor in the Situation

As I write this, there are four days, two hours, and 30ish minutes left until my FAD (Five hundred words A Day) challenge ends.  I’m only 1,400 words behind.  If you think that’s bad (it’s only 350 words extra a day), recall from an earlier post (which I’m not linking to here, because gosh darn it I’ve got to get writing and I don’t have time to fiddle with links!) I was around 9,500 words behind at my worst.
